Spoonbridge and Cherry, Minneapolis |
One of Minneapolis's iconic images is the Cherry and Spoonbridge sculpture. With a backdrop of downtown Minneapolis skyline, it is one of the most photographed locations in all of Minnesota. The sculpture is located in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, at the Walker Arts Center. The Sculpture Garden has dozens of other sculptures to view. The garden itself has a perfect central location between downtown and uptown, making it a great Minneapolis attraction.
What to Expect
The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden was first created in 1988, and later expanded in 1992.
Currently, there are more than 40 permanent exhibits on display, with temporary exhibits also showing throughout the year. Though I think that spring and summer are the best times to view the garden,
the garden is open throughout the winter. Allow yourself an hour to explore all that the garden has to offer, including the conservatory. A visit to the garden is best paired with a visit to the nearby Walker Arts Center.

My wife and I held out wedding in the sculpture garden, in front of the Arbor and Flower garden. The location was so beautiful that we didn't have to order any other flowers or decorations.
